- Out on Hillsides -
In younger days I watched and waited.
I watched and waited, and my soul wandered.
And out on hillsides I watched - I sat, and remembered.
I remembered when life was endless;
full of beast, and herb, and tree. And I asked:
Where are you, Danu? Do you remember, when
all our lives we gave to you - O sacrificed and sacrificer?
And now in older days, I watch and listen -
to the Gods, to the Folk, to the Land. I honor our virtues,
and move forward in my joy.
I have resounded in depths of patience, solid like a stone within safe harbors.
I have risen on the wings of Cranes.
I have grown and waited, and I've grown and moved. I listened:
Bright Brighid, Maiden mother,
I remember and give praise to you;
I'll follow your lead - and guide my footsteps home.
I may be still moving.
But I am moving in and with honor, wisdom, and love.
In younger days I watched and waited.
